About Beth Kope…

“I am grateful to live, learn and create in Victoria BC, the land of the Lekwungen and WSÁNEĆ peoples.  The landscape of the west coast has staked its claim on me. And where ever I go, I’ve found a lake to swim in.

I grew up in Alberta, studied at the University of Alberta, and taught in Adelaide, Australia, Alberta, and Quebec City. I now work at Camosun College. I’ve raised two daughters and have two grandchildren. I’ve had two dogs, but need more. Travels have taken me to South East Asia, Australia, China, Turkey, and Europe …there’s still much to explore.

In 2017, I attended the Banff Centre for Arts in the Writer’s Studio.

I have been a featured reader at Word on the Street, Planet Earth Poetry, Word Thaw, The Writer’s Studio, and The Victoria Festival of Authors (2018). I am the co-host, along with Yvonne Blomer, of the Forest Poet-Tree event with the Victoria Festival of Authors. (2018 to 2021)”
